To ensure the highest level of detail and source verification, every Amethyst Tree Ancestry project is crafted with a deeply personalized approach. Because each family story is unique, timelines vary depending on the package selected and the complexity of your history.
In general, project completion ranges from 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the tier chosen. Your specific calendar timeline will be mapped out and confirmed during your initial consultation.
Project pricing varies based on the package you select and the depth of research required. During your consultation, we’ll review your goals, discuss the best‑fit package, and outline your project timeline and investment.
All research packages include:
– Verified records and source citations
– A written findings summary
– A professionally formatted PDF
– A curated collection of images, documents, and supporting materials
– A private OneDrive folder containing all files
If your package includes a book, you’ll also receive a fully formatted, print‑ready PDF designed for your chosen print‑on‑demand platform.
A GEDCOM is a universal genealogy file that lets you open and continue your family tree in programs like Ancestry, FamilySearch, or Family Tree Maker. It includes names, dates, places, and relationships, but not photos or documents.
Your completed materials will be delivered through a private, secure OneDrive folder. You’ll receive a link to access your files once your project is complete and final payment has been received.
A 50% deposit is required to begin all research packages. The remaining balance is invoiced upon project completion and must be received before final materials are delivered.
Amethyst Custom projects require a 2‑hour minimum payment to begin, with additional hours billed as needed
Genealogy research is a professional service based on time, expertise, and the availability of historical records. Because research time and analysis cannot be returned once work has begun, fees are non‑refundable once research starts.
The $25 consultation fee is also non‑refundable, as it reserves your appointment time and covers the preparation completed before each consult.
While specific discoveries can never be guaranteed, all research is conducted using established genealogical standards and best practices. When records are limited or unavailable, findings and next‑step recommendations are clearly documented and explained.
My goal is always to provide thoughtful, ethical research and meaningful insights into your family history, even when records present challenges.
If you’d like to continue exploring a family line or expand your project, you can add time through Amethyst Custom, billed at an hourly rate. We’ll discuss your goals and outline the scope before any additional work begins.
Your deliverable includes a fully formatted, print‑ready PDF that can be used with any print‑on‑demand vendor. If you prefer to handle printing yourself, you’ll receive simple instructions to guide you. If you’d like assistance with setup, this can be added as an optional service.
DNA is not required for research, but it can be helpful in certain cases. If you choose to share DNA results, they will be used only for your project and handled with strict privacy.
You can book a consultation directly through the website. The consult fee is $25, and if you book a package or custom project within 14 days, the fee is credited back to your invoice.
Your OneDrive folder remains available for 30 days after final delivery. Please download and save all materials during that time. After 30 days, files may be archived or removed to maintain secure storage practices.
Absolutely. All personal information, documents, and family details are handled with strict confidentiality and used solely for your project.
